My father-in-law was in town and wanted to go for a flight, so we hopped in the plane and requested a Bay Tour.

We departed from San Martin (E16) and flew north, picking up flight following for the bay tour as we climbed to 4500.

We didn’t get the Bravo transition so had to transition west over to the coast and remain under the Bravo airspace. The marine layer broke just before Pacifica and we dove down to 1500 ft.

We proceeded north along the coast passing by The Sunset

Then of course the Golden Gate Bridge.

We then circled Alcatraz before turning back towards the bridge. There was a TFR in place over the stadium, so we couldn’t fly around downtown, but still made the most of it.

On the way back we got some closer perspectives of the bridge.

It was a really beautiful day for flying. It was a little choppy at times, and we even had some light rain on the way back – free carwash!

Overall a really amazing day of flying – 1.4 hrs on the hobbs!
